Staff Sergeant Pleasants served with the 145th Infantry Regiment, 37th Infantry Division. He was wounded in July of 1944 and returned to active duty in October 1944. Before entering the service, he attended Montpelier High School and deployed overseas in May 1942. He is buried in the Manila American Cemetery, Manila, Philippines.
