Private First Class Blevins served with E Company, 2nd Battalion, 9th Marines, 3rd Marine Division, 3rd Marine Amphibious Force as a rifleman. He was killed in an ambush on Highway QL-9, 5 kilometers S-SW of CA LU Airfield in Quang Tri Province. He is buried at the Azen Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery in Konnarock, Virginia.
