Virginia War Memorial Livestream – Ernie Pyle: “The Eternal Reporter”

War correspondent Ernie Pyle was a “soldier’s soldier.”  His writing during World War II featured the experiences of the common soldier as he reported from North Africa, Europe, and the South Pacific.  Pyle received a Pulitzer Prize for his reports on the bombing of London in 1940.  Sadly, his life was cut short by Japanese machine-gun fire on the island of le Shima in April 1945.  Join Virginia War Memorial Director of Education Jim Triesler as he explores the extraordinary life of Ernie Pyle.
