Storytime at the Memorial: February 2025

“Storytime at the Memorial” offers the reading of a children’s book by an experienced educator and themed craft activities. “Storytime at the Memorial” programs are free and open to all children and their families with a suggested age of 4-10 years old. Every month is a new theme and book!

Storytime at the Memorial – Black History Month

Saturday, February 8, 2025  10:30 am – 11:30 am

Featured Book: Wind Flyers by Angela Johnson.  Children will assemble and decorate toy airplanes.

Programs take place on the second Saturday of each month at 10:30 a.m.  Pre-registration is not required to attend and participate and children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

March 8: Women’s History Month  

Featured Book: K9 Mattis On The Job by Mark Tappan.  Children will craft police dogs with modeling clay.

April 12: Month of the Military Child 

Featured Book: All Hands On Deck! Dad’s Coming Home! by Julia A. Maki.  Children will make Welcome Home banners and signs.

May 10: Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month  

Featured Book: The Lotus Seed by Sherry Garland.Children will make their own keepsake pouch for treasures.

June 14: Flag Day History

Featured Book:  America’s Flag Story by Karen S. Robbins.  Children will make American Flag streamer
