Richmond Marathon Patriotic Spirit Team
This Veterans Day, Saturday, November 11th, the city of Richmond is hosting the annual Allianz Partners Richmond Marathon.
During Mile 16 of the race, runners will go past the Virginia War Memorial on Belvidere Street where there will be a water stop and a junk food station.
We are hosting one of the biggest–and most patriotic–spirit stops along the entire course, and we want YOU to be a part of the event with us! The Virginia War Memorial is calling for volunteers to cheer the runners along Mile 16. We are in a competition to have the Memorial’s mile be the best one for all the marathoners.
We are fortunate to have 2nd street open, and the parking garage available for volunteers and friends, so getting to the Memorial’s spirit stop will be easier, even though many of the roads throughout the city will be closed. We will have active-duty military from Ft. Gregg-Adams, boy scout troops from around the city, staffers, and friends from around town all helping to make this Spirit Station the best ever.
We will also be hosting a Veterans E-Sports truck on-site, to demonstrate how e-sports play a beneficial role in veteran healthcare.
