ONLINE – More Than Just a Wall: The History of the Virginia War Memorial

The Virginia War Memorial was dedicated on February 29, 1956 to honor the lives of Virginians who died in World War II and the Korean War.

Since then, the Memorial has grown in many ways, yet it still serves the purpose of helping all Virginians continue to remember the lives of those lost to war.

From the beginning of World War II to the 21st Century’s Global War on Terror, Education Director Jim Triesler will walk you through the history of our site as we commemorate the Memorial’s Dedication Day.

Join this livestream as we shares the many stories of the Virginia War Memorial’s inception and ever-evolving history.

As always, our online programs are free and open to the public, but advanced registration is required.
