On Witches’ Wings: The Night Witches of World War II

Join us as we discover the history of the brave pilots who flew outdated canvas biplanes against the Axis forces in some of the most daring and hair-raising bombing missions of World War II.

These aviators weren’t ordinary “flyboys” – these extraordinary pilots of the 46th “Taman” Guards Night Bomber Aviation Regiment broke records and flew against the odds in the air and as young women in the Soviet Air Forces.

Tune in as Rusty Nix of the VA WWI and WWII Commemoration Commission shares the stories of the “night witches” like Irina Sebrova (pictured), who flew more sorties (1,008) than any other member of her regiment.
