Medal of Honor Day: Virtual Gallery Tour
The Medal of Honor is our nation’s highest military honor for valor in action against an enemy force that can be bestowed. Every March 25th we commemorate the six characteristics espoused by all Medal of Honor recipients: courage, sacrifice, patriotism, citizenship, integrity, and commitment.
Our Medal of Honor Gallery shares the stories of the fifty Medal of Honor recipients officially attributed to Virginia by the Department of Defense. The Gallery is open to all visitors during our regular visiting hours. But, this Friday at 12:00 p.m. we invite you for a special virtual tour of the Gallery with Memorial Director Dr. Clay Mountcastle. Clay will go live on Facebook and share some of the stories of bravery and service from the Gallery.
