History at the Memorial: “Donut Dollies – 627 Women Who Also Served in Vietnam” Documentary Premiere
Join us for the premiere of “Donut Dollies – 627 Women Who Also Served in Vietnam,” a documentary produced by Libbie Hegvik of Tilt Creative + Production, featuring the untold stories of the female Red Cross workers who volunteered for a year of duty in Vietnam to boost morale and bring smiles to the faces of American service members. Between 1965 and 1973, only 627 Donut Dollies served in Vietnam. One of these courageous women was Diane, Libbie’s mother, who met Libbie’s father, an Army soldier, while volunteering as a Donut Dolly. As both a daughter and producer, Libbie was inspired to honor the vital work of these women, shedding light on their impact and legacy.
