Water Tender First Class Bain served aboard the USS Vincennes CA-44 that was hit by Japanese shells and the ship sunk, losing 332 crewmen on August 9, 1942. His name is etched on the Tablets of the Missing in the Manila American Cemetery, Philippines.

Sergeant Baines served with Company L, 319th Infantry Regiment, 80th Infantry Division. He was killed by shrapnel that went through his heart. He is buried in Cypress Chapel Christian Church, Suffolk, Virginia.

Private Baird served with the 2nd Division and was wounded during the invasion of Normandy, June 1944 but returned to duty in July 1944. Before the war, he was employed by DuPont. He is buried in a family cemetery plot in Prince George, Virginia.

Corporal Lloyd C. Baker was assigned to Company D, 1345th Engineer Regiment as a truck driver and was qualified on rifle E184.

Second Lieutenant Baker served with the Marine Fighting Squadron 322 (VMF – 322), Marine Aircraft Group 33 (MAG-33), 2nd Marine Aircraft Wing. His name is etched in the Courts of the Missing at the Honolulu Memorial, Hawaii.

Seaman Second Class Baker served aboard the USS Monaghan. He attended Woodrow Wilson High School and was employed at the Norfolk Naval Yard before enlisting in the Navy.
