Captain Shani Miller, U.S. Air Force
Shani served as an Air Force Intelligence Officer, supporting operations throughout Northern Africa, the Middle East, and Asia. She deployed multiple times to Iraq and Afghanistan. In 2016, Shani assisted Iraqi helicopter pilots in defeating ISIS in Fallujah and Mosul during Operation Inherent Resolve. Shani is currently working on a memoir focused on losing a sense of belonging after returning from deployments, and then finding that belonging again through travel and the birth of her children. She and her husband, Nathanael, have four beautiful children.
