Student Art Gallery and Contest

2022 Armed forces Day Art contest

The theme of the 2022 Armed Forces Day Art Contest is “Bravery and Courage.”

Thank you to all of our 2022 artists who shared their talents with the Memorial this year. View the winners and all entries below.

Students from across Virginia were invited to create works of art that represent images of “Bravery and Courage.”

The Art Contest was open to all Kindergarten through 12th grade (K-12) students currently enrolled in public or private schools or homeschooled in Virginia.

Visitors to the website have voted on their favorite art piece in four grade categories (K-2, 3-5, 6-8, and 9-12). Winners from each category will receive a gift card award and prizes, presented by McDonald’s Owner-Operators of Richmond, Tidewater, and Shenandoah Valley, Virginia.

All participants are invited to share their artwork in person as part of a temporary student art display during the weekend of Hill of Heroes Family Day, from Thursday, June 23 through Sunday, June 26.
