Storytime at the Memorial: March 2026
Experience educator-led readings of children’s history books and themed craft activities on second Saturdays of the month at the Virginia War Memorial. Programs take place in Russell Scott Hall at 10:30 a.m. Storytime at the Memorial programs are free and open to children and families. The suggested age range for participants is 4 to 10 years old.
K-9 Veterans Day Celebration
Saturday, March 14, 10:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m., program repeats at 11:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.
Featured Book: “Stubby: A True Story of Friendship” by Michael Foreman.
Children will craft police dogs with foam clay, design and press Storytime buttons, color military K9 coloring sheets and more.
NOTE: The Virginia War Memorial’s FREE .9K9 Memorial Walk is taking place 9:30 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. and there will be dogs on-site during this time.
Preregistration is not required to attend and participate. Children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
