Remembering 9/11: The Day That Changed the World

Where were you when you first heard the news?

The attacks on September 11, 2001, also known as 9/11, took the lives of nearly 3,000 people. 9/11 changed our nation and the world forever, and we should never forget to honor the thousands of lives lost and to remember the heroism of our first responders. However, younger generations have no memories of 9/11.  For the 25th anniversary of 9/11, the Virginia War Memorial invites you to be a part of our oral history program by sharing your story. The preservation of stories from those that experienced the attacks can help future generations understand the impact and legacy of 9/11.
