Sergeant Hamilton served with the 364th Bomb Squadron, 305th Bomb Group. He served with the National Guard, then joined the Army Air Corp in June 1942. He was a waist gunner on B17 # 42-37979 “Bayou Gal” when it was hit by flax and exploded May 22, 1944 near Kiel, Germany.

He is buried in Richmond National Cemetery, Richmond, Virginia.
