Technician Fifth Grade Shelton served in North Africa and in Europe with the 128th Motor Supply & Evacuation Regiment, 942nd Ordnance Motor Vehicle Distribution Company. He was Killed in Action by shrapnel from German 88mm artillery fire while crossing the Rhine River with General Patton’s 7th Army. Before the war, he was employed by Sampson’s Paint and Color Company in Richmond, Virginia. He is buried in Elpis Christian Church Cemetery, Goochland County, Virginia.
