Private First Class Mallory served with Company D, 254th Infantry Regiment.

Before the war, he went to high school for two years, worked on a farm and  enlisted in Richmond, Virginia in May 1941.

He died from gunshot wound to the chest while defending the Siegfried Line at the Rhine River in Germany on April 10, 1945. He is buried in Stanardsville Public Cemetery, Stanardsville, Virginia.
