Chief Radioman Brittingham served on the USS Porter DDG-78 in November 1941.  He was stationed in Washington, D.C. and Pearl Harbor.

Before the war, he became an amateur radio operator by age 16 and graduated from high school.

He is buried in Arlington National Cemetery.
