Internships and Volunteering


The Virginia War Memorial offers several education and research internship opportunities for college students and recent graduates throughout the year. Please read the position descriptions below to find out more about our current internships and to apply.

Education Department Internship (paid) – Summer 2020

The Virginia War Memorial Education Department seeks a qualified candidate for the paid position of Education Intern. This individual will assist with the development and execution of a wide variety of educational programs, including teacher professional development, content development for student programming, and assisting with educational events throughout the term.

Qualified applicants will have or be pursuing a degree in History, Education, Museum Studies, or other related topics indicating an interest in American Military History. Successful applicants will have excellent written and verbal communication skills, be well organized, and work effectively independently and on a small team.

Undergraduate-level interns will receive $1000 for 100 hours of work. Graduate-level interns will receive $1500 for 100 hours of work.
