Corporal Bowling served with the 4th Combat Engineer Battalion, 4th Marine Division, Marine Corps Reserve – Lynchburg, Virginia. He was killed when an enemy rocket propelled grenade struck his vehicle.
He was a graduate of Patrick Henry Community College with a degree in Administration of Justice.
He is buried in Pilson Family Cemetery, Patrick County, Virginia.
