The 28th Division is the oldest in the U. S. Army, with some units tracing their lineage to before the American Revolution. In 1917, it was redesignated as the 28th Division, and its nickname became the “Iron Division.”  Seven weeks after D-Day, they landed in France and marched through Paris, before seeing heavy fighting in the Battle of the Hürtgen Forest and the Battle of the Bulge. Join Chris Kolakowski, Director of the Wisconsin Veterans Museum, as he discusses this storied division and its involvement in World War II.
