Tuskegee Airmen Commemoration Day
In celebration of Tuskegee Airmen Commemoration Day, join us for this in-person presentation of the service and valor of the Tuskegee Airmen during World War II.
In partnership with the Howard Baugh Chapter of Tuskegee Airmen, Inc. (HBC-TAI), in Petersburg, VA, we will discuss preserving the legacy of the Tuskegee Airmen by highlighting the obstacles they faced and the remarkable performance they delivered. Their outstanding combat record inspired revolutionary reform resulting in the desegregation of the entire US military which ignited the modern civil rights movement in our nation. Their legendary triumph over adversity commands celebration and warrants commemoration. Please join us in honoring these WWII American heroes as we observe Tuskegee Airmen Commemoration Day in Virginia for 2026.
This program is free to attend and open to the public. For more information contact Lizzie Oglesby elizabeth.oglesby@dvs.virginia.gov 804.786.9700
