The Virginia War Memorial offers one-of-a-kind indoor and outdoor spaces for your next event, ideal for everything from small business meeting to formal receptions or dinner events for up to 1,500 guests. Your guests will enjoy the breathtaking views of the James River and the Richmond city skyline.

Guests may also have the opportunity to enjoy the exhibits on display throughout the Paul and Phyllis Galanti Education Center and the inspiring Shrine of Memory.

The Memorial is able to provide tables, chairs, podiums, projection systems, and full A/V services for your event. All proceeds from the facility rentals go toward the non-profit Virginia War Memorial Educational Foundation to help fund the educational and patriotic programs and events of the Memorial.

Schumann Conference Room

Schumann Conference Room

The Schumann conference room provides a well-equipped and traditional space for a business or board meeting. The space includes a 22-foot walnut conference table and executive seating. A screen and projector are available for your presentation needs.

Capacity: Up to 40 individuals (19 seated at table)

Availability: Any Day 6 AM – 10 PM

Reynolds Theater

Reynolds Theater

With its stadium seating, Reynolds Theater is a perfect space for corporate and educational programs. Includes built-in projection system and large movie screen.

Capacity: Cushioned theater seating for 69 individuals.

Undercroft Exhibit Hall

Undercroft Exhibit Hall

Surrounded by museum exhibits and adjacent to both Scott Hall and Reynolds Theatre, Undercroft Exhibit Hall is the perfect venue to host a cocktail reception or register attendees for an event in adjacent Scott Hall. Available at reduced rental rate when combined with rental of Scott Hall or other indoor or outdoor spaces.

Capacity: Up to 100 individuals for a standing reception.

Russell Scott Hall

Russell Scott Hall

The Memorial’s largest and most adaptable multi-purpose space. Scott Hall can easily accommodate a multitude of events from business meetings and seminars to banquets and receptions. The room features a projector and screen for presentations and opens into the Undercroft Exhibit Hall.

CAPACITY: 200 individuals for a reception; 130 in a theater style seating arrangement; 96 with 8-top round tables; and 50 in a classroom arrangement with rectangle tables. The room is fully audio/visual capable.

AVAILABILITY: Any Day 6 AM – 10 PM

PRICE: Monday-Friday (6 AM – 10 PM) $600 half-day, $800 full-day or evening includes use of tables, chairs, wifi, and podium. Friday-Sunday $1,000 per day (8 AM- 10 PM).

ADDITIONS: Set-up/Clean-up $500, Extra Security approximately $75/hour.

With its manicured lane, rose garden and panoramic views of the city, Ukrops Terrace is an ideal location for an intimate outdoor event such as a reception or dinner party.

VMI Alumni Hall of Honor

VMI Alumni Hall of Honor

This multi-purpose auditorium space is part of the original interior structure of the War Memorial and provides a 200 square foot stage and 1,200 square feet seating area with a Seal of the Commonwealth of Virginia, a podium, and a separate reception area.

CAPACITY: This room is capable of 135 individuals for a reception; 100 in a theater style seating arrangement; 64 with 8-top round tables; and 50 in a classroom arrangement with rectangle tables. The room is fully audio/visual capable.

Heilman Amphitheater

This classic outdoor amphitheater with spectacular vistas features a permanent stage and full audio-visual capabilities. The Heilman Amphitheater is perfect for large events, concerts, weddings, and other ceremonies.

Capacity: Up to 400 individuals on marbled, five-tiered permanent seating

Availability: Monday-Friday (4 PM-10 PM), Saturday-Sunday (6 AM – 10 PM)

Price: Evening and Weekend $1,000 until construction completion

Grand Lobby

With its 20-foot high ceiling and surrounding windows, looking out onto the Shrine of Memory and the Richmond skyline, the Grand Lobby is unequaled in Richmond as a venue for hosting a special reception or dinner event.

This indoor space is ideal for an inside formal event or reception. This room can also be broken into two separate areas for smaller scale events.

Capacity:

  • Full Lecture Hall: 500 individuals for a standing reception; 350 theatre-style seating; 250 with 8-top round tables.
  • Lecture Hall A: No stage, 175 individuals for a standing reception, 125 in theatre style, 75 for seated dinner event. No audio/visual capability.
  • Lecture Hall B: Stage included. 175 individuals for a standing reception, 125 in theatre style, 75 for seated dinner event. Audio/Visual Capability included.

Availability: Any Day 4 PM – 10 PM

Price: Weekdays (All Day): $3,000 Evening and Weekend $3,500 for the full space for an evening or weekend event (10 hrs.). Lecture Hall A (Stage Included) will be $2,000, Lecture Hall B (Stage Not Included) will be $1,500.

Hargrove Plaza
